Welcome to CLRSC
(Central London Rough Sleepers Committee)
Regrettably we have had to pause our meal provisions.
The Central London Rough Sleepers Committee (CLRSC) a voluntary organisation set up in 2008 with the sole ambition to provide a safe and peaceful environment for rest, food and conversation to the vulnerable in Central London. Rough sleepers were invited to attend events which were held every two weeks invitations were available through local day centres. Meals were organised and run by volunteers. Attendance regularly catered for 60-75 guests per event.
Events were run by voluntary support. We did not ask for any minimum time commitment to join the meal. Volunteers were asked just a week before any meal event to confirm if they were available to attend. We welcomed anyone interested in being involved in a meal. No experience was required.
The CLRSC a secular voluntary organisation funded by private donations. The meal locations were held at St Peters Oxford St, St Annes, Soho, The Ukrainian Church and The Welsh Church in Central London. All were located in W1
Special thanks to...
Our dedicated team included a committee, meal leaders and volunteers they made every meal an event dedicating their personal time on a Saturday night to support our aim which is to encourage socialisation.
Our Founder and Deputy Chair, Professor Stefan Allesch-Taylor CBE. Who has funded over 90% of the events since 2008. We also received support from The Department of Coffee and Social Affairs, not only did they offer essential supplies for each of the meals but also give crucial behind the scenes support.
Thanks also go out to our bank of chefs for consistently delivering such delicious, varied and excellent cuisine at every meal.
